Mumbai: Animal directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, has outstripped the collection of KGF and secured the fifth spot among the highest-grossing Indian films in Hindi within just 15 days of its release.
The movie, featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol alongside Ranbir Kapoor, had an impressive third Friday at the box office, adding approximately Rs 8 crore to its collection. The film's total Hindi earnings have now reached Rs 426 crores, ascending into the fifth position among the top-grossing Hindi films, following "Jawan," "Pathaan," "Gadar 2," and "Baahubali 2."
During its initial days of release, "Animal" demonstrated a staggering performance at the box office, securing remarkable earnings.
The movie grossed Rs 52 crores on its first day, followed by a notable increase with collections marking Rs 57 crores on day two. Witnessing a tremendous surge, the third day witnessed a whopping Rs 61 crores in revenue.
However, collections slightly dipped on the fourth day, accumulating Rs 38 crores. Day five brought in Rs 32.50 crores, while the sixth day saw a collection of Rs 26 crores. Day seven marked Rs 22 crores in earnings, followed by Rs 21.50 crores on the eighth day.
The film surged again on the ninth day, amassing Rs 31.50 crores, and continued its strong performance on day ten, earning Rs 33.50 crores.
However, there was a slight decline in collections on the eleventh day, amounting to Rs 13 crores, followed by Rs 11.75 crores on the twelfth day. Day thirteen tallied Rs 9.75 crores, while day fourteen witnessed earnings of Rs 8.50 crores.
Finally, on its fifteenth day, the film accumulated Rs 8 crores in revenue.
Despite its extended runtime and A-certification, Animal has dominated the box office for 15 days. The movie is also getting criticism for its violent scenes, misogynistic characters, and glorification of toxic masculinity.
Its undisputed performance, however, might face some hindrance with the upcoming releases "Dunki" and "Salaar." The film's resilience against these Christmas releases will determine its trajectory moving forward.
Ranbir Kapoor's "Animal" narrates the tale of a son's transformation amid a strained relationship with his father, exploring his pursuit of revenge.
