Goa: Kalki Koechlin, renowned for her exceptional acting prowess, recently opened up about the backlash she and her partner, Guy Hershberg, faced from netizens after welcoming their daughter Sappho out of wedlock in 2020.
In a candid interview with Mashable India, Kalki Koechlin addressed the criticism they received for not getting married before the birth of their child. The actress shared that it was a mutual decision between her and Hershberg not to tie the knot. Explaining further, she revealed that her partner had no interest in marriage, and as Kalki had been previously married to director Anurag Kashyap and divorced, they opted not to pursue matrimony. Instead, they chose to live together as a family.
Kalki and Guy first crossed paths on an all-girls trip to Israel, where they developed a strong bond. Guy, who attended the same music school as one of Kalki's friends, joined the group during their trip. Their daughter, Sappho, was born in 2020 in Goa, where the couple currently resides. Despite living in Goa, Kalki frequently travels to Mumbai for work. However, she makes sure to organise her schedule in a way that allows her to spend ample time with her daughter.
In a previous interview with Times Of India, Kalki expressed her desire for her daughter to grow up surrounded by greenery, which led to the decision to relocate to Goa.
On the professional front, Kalki Koechlin is all set to grace the screen in Made In Heaven Season 2. The highly anticipated series, consisting of seven episodes, will be released on Prime Video on August 10.
