New Delhi: Negating the claims of former UP DGP Brij Lal, the Enforcement Directorate has clarified that they have found no connections between Bhim Army and Popular Front of India.
The ED has also said the talks of Rs 100 crore being recovered is untrue.
Brij Lal, also the former chief of UP Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission, had claimed that the Bhim Army and other outfits were trying to mislead the family of the Hathras gang rape victim.
The former officer also alleged that the PFI and its affiliate Campus Front of India, became active during the Hathras protests and pumped in Rs 100 crore from Mauritius for instigating riots over the case.
Responding to the clarifications of the ED, O M A Salam, Chairman of PFI, said that this is the case of almost every allegation made against Popular Front.
When the allegations were levelled against the organisation, O M A Salam had tweeted that Yogi Adityanath government's single solution to any problem was to blame it on Muslims and witch-hunting them.
The UP Police had arrested four people including journalist Siddique Kappan and three Campus Front of India workers on their way to Hathras to meet the victim's family. They were booked for sedition and other charges in Mathura.
Following the ED's clarification, Chandrashekhar challenged Yogi Adityanath to prove the allegations against Bhim Army. He asked Yogi to resign if he cannot prove the accusation.
