OnePlus has announced an ambitious initiative named Project Starlight, pledging Rs 6,000 crore over three years to enhance its service experience and technology offerings in India.
This significant investment will see Rs 2,000 crore allocated annually until 2027, as part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its customer engagement and device reliability.
The smartphone giant aims to increase its service centers in India by 50 percent by mid-2026. While exact numbers remain undisclosed, OnePlus noted a 22 percent growth in total service centers and an 11 percent increase in exclusive centers in 2024. To complement this expansion, the company is enhancing its customer support channels, offering live chat, WhatsApp assistance, and a hotline, along with a service tracking feature for greater transparency.
Retail partnerships will also play a pivotal role, with third-party stores equipped to deliver improved service options under this initiative. Currently, OnePlus operates around 40 exclusive and 33 authorized retail stores across the country.
As part of Project Starlight, OnePlus is extending its Green Line Worry-Free Solution, an initiative that guarantees lifetime screen warranty for devices with green line display issues. Additionally, the company is introducing a new protective layer for AMOLED panels and intensifying hardware testing protocols.
OnePlus has also emphasized improvements in the display technology of its upcoming OnePlus 13, which will debut in India with a DisplayMate A++ screen. This marks a significant milestone in the brand's efforts to set higher standards in visual quality.
The OnePlus 13 will include features tailored to Indian users, such as Steady Connect, which promises more reliable Bluetooth connections with a range of up to 360 meters. Designed for challenging environments like subways and gyms, this feature aims to ensure seamless connectivity.
The device will also support 5G-Advanced (5.5G), delivering a claimed 380 percent improvement in average network speeds. Furthermore, OnePlus is introducing signal optimization for transit systems like the Delhi Metro to enhance connectivity during commutes.
With Project Starlight, OnePlus is reaffirming its dedication to the Indian market, focusing on innovative solutions and a superior service ecosystem. From display advancements to network enhancements, the initiative underscores the brand’s commitment to blending technology with customer-centricity.
