Cardano Foundation and SEE Institute, Dubai collaborate to launch sustainable blockchain diploma

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Cardano Foundation has partnered with Dubai-based SEE Institute to promote sustainable blockchain solutions across sectors such as supply-chain management, governance, education, and more.

This collaboration includes the launch of a professional diploma in sustainable blockchain solutions, marking a significant step towards integrating eco-friendly technology into various industries.

The SEE Institute, a Fortune 500-affiliated organisation dedicated to sustainable education and research, will work with the Cardano Foundation to develop blockchain solutions that address critical areas like waste management, energy, mobility, and water resources. The Cardano Foundation, a non-profit entity supporting the proof-of-stake (PoS) Cardano blockchain, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the SEE Institute to formalise this partnership.

As part of the initiative, a six-module course will be introduced to train professionals in tackling global sustainability challenges through blockchain innovations. The diploma aims to bridge the gap between blockchain technology and sustainable development by equipping participants with practical knowledge and tools.

“We are thrilled to join hands with SEE Institute to educate and explore new blockchain applications, particularly in advancing sustainable development,” said Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation.

This initiative aligns with a growing global emphasis on blockchain education. Earlier this month, the Cardano Foundation released its Financial Insights Report 2023, highlighting its $4.18 million investment in educational initiatives like the Cardano Academy and Cardano Explorer. These programmes aim to foster research, discussion, and awareness around blockchain technology.

India has also seen a surge in blockchain education efforts. At the India Blockchain Week 2024, crypto investment platform Mudrex launched ‘Learn with Mudrex,’ a free educational programme offering courses and live sessions in eight Indian languages. The initiative targets onboarding 1 million learners within three months, furthering blockchain literacy across the country.
