Adani Group and Google partner to accelerate clean energy adoption in India

The Adani Group has entered into a strategic partnership with tech giant Google to enhance the availability of clean energy throughout India.

As part of the collaboration, the two companies will establish a new solar-wind hybrid energy project at the Khavda renewable energy plant in Gujarat, which is the world's largest of its kind.

This project is expected to become operational by mid-2025.

In a joint statement, Adani and Google emphasized that the initiative aligns with both companies' sustainability goals, aiming to contribute significantly to India's renewable energy capacity and add more clean power to the national grid.

"Adani is well-positioned to deliver large-scale wind, solar, hybrid, and energy storage projects, providing customized renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial clients to meet their power needs and lower their carbon footprint," the release stated. The partnership also underscores Adani Group's intention to expand its focus on commercial and merchant segments to support industries in decarbonizing their operations.

For Google, this partnership is a significant step toward achieving its "24/7 carbon-free energy goal," ensuring that its cloud services and operations in India are powered by clean energy sources.
