Shivpuri (MP): A court here in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday sentenced seven people to life imprisonment for killing four people by burning them, PTI reported, citing officials.
A complaint by a man named Rameshwar Rathore, a resident of Maniyar under Shivpuri Kotwali police station, had stated that his sister's husband and mother-in-law set the room on fire in which his siblings and parents were sleeping, on the night of April 15, 2015.
His sister Laxmi and Saraswati, brother Mahesh and mother Gita died in the fire while his father survived. Laxmi's husband Ramlakhan, brother-in-law Ramveer, mother-in-law Kamlabai, sister-in-law Durgesh, and three others sentenced in the case who were booked for murder and dowry harassment. The verdict was mainly based on dying declarations, and it added Rs 6,000 each fine over the imprisonment.
