Rejecting split, man murders former girlfriend at Mohali office before turning knife on himself

Mohali: A workplace argument turned fatal in Punjab when a 39-year-old employee stabbed his younger colleague to death inside their office building following a recent relationship split.

The victim, Dimple, 30, had reportedly decided to end her three-year relationship with Harjinder Singh. Driven by resentment over the breakup, Singh cornered the woman on the company premises and launched a violent assault with a knife.

The entire attack was recorded on internal security cameras. The footage shows Singh pursuing the victim through the building as horrified bystanders tried to step in. Despite the immediate intervention of several co-workers who attempted to disarm the attacker, the injuries proved fatal, and the woman died on-site.

Immediately after the murder, Singh inflicted self-harm by stabbing himself with the same weapon. Security staff and emergency responders moved him to a local hospital, where he is currently being treated under police guard.

Detectives have secured the building's CCTV files and are taking formal statements from the employees who witnessed the incident. A murder investigation has been opened, and formal charges will be pressed once the suspect is medically cleared to face magistrates.
