Two cops injured in ‘Terrorist attack’ near Turkey parliament
text_fieldsAnkara: Two police officials have been injured during a ‘terrorist attack’ near the Turkey's parliament in Ankara on Sunday, news agency AFP reported.
A bomb attack took place around 9:30 am in front of the entrance gate to the General Directorate of Security of the country’s Ministry of the Interior.
‘In front of the entrance gate of the General Directorate of Security of our Ministry of the Interior, and carried out a bomb attack,’ the ministry said.
The ministry further added that one terrorist blew himself up leaving two officials with ‘minor injuries’, while the other was neutralized.
The area where the blast took place houses several other ministries and the Turkish parliament.
The parliament was to reopen today with an address by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the report said citing Turkish media.
