"Modi was right" French President Macron pats on the back of Modi
text_fieldsNew York: French president Emmanuel Macron appreciated Prime Minister Modi's advice to Russian President Vladmir Putin that this is not an era of war.
Macron invoked PM Modi's interaction with Putin at 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, saying that Modi was right.
Macron was quoted by ANI as saying that the Prime Minister of India was right when he said the time is not for war.
Alongside quoting Modi, he said it is not time for revenge against the West, or for opposing the West against the east as it is the time for a collective time for our sovereign equal states.
During a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization's summit, PM Modi told Putin that today's era is not of war as he had mentioned to Putin on the call.
Modi further told Putin that today there is opportunity to talk about how we can progress on the path of peace. He stressed that India and Russia have stayed together with each other for several decades.
Acknowledging India's position on Ukraine conflict, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that "we want all of this to end as soon as possible".
Putin added that relations between Russia and India are of a privileged strategic partnership and continue to develop very rapidly.
