Sialkot: Pakistan's Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif accused former Prime Minister Imran Khan of taking Pakistan into bloodshed and chaos. "Khan made baseless allegations against former President Asif Ali Zardari like Zardari wanted to get Khan killed."

There was fear of bloodshed in Pakistan's politics and if anything had happened, Khan would have been responsible. The former PM also shifted his stance again and again causing more chaos in an already embattled county, said Asif to the media.

He also alleged that Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Khan's party, had the platform of assemblies they rejected, and now they were asking the institutions to facilitate talks with the government. He further said Khan should stop calling the army for help and do politics alone as no one will help him now, reported ANI.

The PTI had sought the dissolution of the Assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Imran said he did not want to sit with thieves and dacoits. He later said his party members will withdraw their resignations from the Assembly. But when the resignations started being accepted, Khan said they were coming back to the assembly.

The defence minister also accused Khan of being party to Pakistan's economic downfall and his blaming of other factors was rendered useless. "Khan used to blame the USA for bringing down his government, but now he was accusing caretaker chief minister Mohsin Naqvi of doing so. This is a clear contradiction in Khan's words and actions."
