Failure in handling covid crisis: Protests against Bolsonaro

Brasilia: Thousands have hit the road protesting against Jair Bolsonaro and his cabinet for their failure in handling the Covid crisis, which caused the death of around half a million Brazilians. Since the start of the pandemic, more than 16 million were infected. Currently, Brazil is third among countries worldwide in the number of affected persons and second after the US in the number of Covid related deaths.

The protesters called for impeachment and demanded vaccination policies and fiscal packages to aid the population. The Police fought back with tear gas and rubber bullets, harming many. Bolsonaro condemned the protests as unfortunate and out of place.
