My dream is to see India and Pakistan become good friends, says Malala

Islamabad: Malala Yosufsai, education activist and Nobel prize winner, said that one of her greatest dreams is having the people of India and Pakistan live together peacefully, like good friends, and without borders. When that happens, one could travel to both countries when one wishes to and continue watching Bollywood and Pakistani cinema and cricket matches, she added.

Not only India and Pakistan, but the minorities of every country need to be protected, for they face exploitation not only in the name of religion but in the name of power and authority, she noted. She further added that this is an issue to be taken seriously.

Arresting and imprisoning peaceful protestors, restriction and ban of the internet, among other happenings in India, are worrisome. Malala also said she hopes the Indian government will heed the demands of the Indian public.
