Cat that jumped on Imam’s shoulder during Ramadan prayers steals hearts

Bordj Bou Arreridj, Algeria: An Imam in Algeria had a surprise guest on his shoulder while he was leading Ramadan prayers in a mosque.
Footage, going viral on social media, shows a cat appears from nowhere as the Imam was about to begin the prayer.
The cat mooches around the base of the microphone stand, snuggling up to the Imam who was reciting a prayer, eyes shut.
The viral video, shared by Sheikh Walid Mehsas on Facebook, showed the Imam leading the nightly prayer of Taraweeh at a crowded mosque in Bordj Bou Arreridj.
Pacing about the feet of Imam awhile, the cat jumps on his hand before climbing up on his shoulder.
Imam carries on his recital undistracted just as the cat tries to kiss his face, before eventually jumping down on the floor.
The adorable video received over 46,000 likes and 10,000 shares.
The caption to the video posted on Facebook said ‘Glory be to God. Even animals fear the words of God. Watch a cat climb over the Imam. And he is reading the Quran in Taraweeh prayer.’
The footage has raked up a lot of comments with one user saying that ‘That is so beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes!’
Another user said the cat behaved as if it wanted to thank the Imam for reciting the ‘Noble Qur’an in a voice that pleases his ears’.
