WhatsApp to extend the message-deleting time limit to more than seven days

WhatsApp is working on increasing the time limit of users being able to delete messages to more than seven days. Currently, this limit is 1 hour, 8 minutes, 16 seconds. In a future update, users will be able to delete messages after a longer period.
The best of this update is not available to anyone including beta testers right now. The latest deletion feature was spotted on WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2147.4. WaBetaInfo shared a screenshot of the feature, reported NDTV.
WhatsApp had earlier planned to remove any restriction to delete messages. Now, they are planning to modify it to seven days and eight minutes for now. A new update may also introduce a feature that will speed up audio messages while they are being played back. This feature is still under development and the authorities may still change plans.
There hasn't been a formal announcement about this on social media platforms until now.
