OnePlus is planning to launch its new flagship, the OnePlus 9, this month. This year would also witness the latest version of the recently released and globally acclaimed OnePlus Nord series. The company also plans to release the Nord 2 in the second half of the year.

OnePlus had always used a Snapdragon Processor for its earlier phones, but this will be the first time they join MediaTek. Mediatek promises the brand new 5G processor, the Dimensity 1200, to power the Nord 2. It is expected that Nord's launch would follow the OnePlus series launch.

Earlier, the OnePlus Nord, with a Snapdragon 765 processor, had a starting price of ₹28000. OnePlus would set a new standard if they could manage to sell the Nord 2, powered by the flagship Mediatek Dimensity 1200, below ₹30000.

Mediatek's Dimensity brings with it a 168Hz screen refresh rate, supports still photo up to 200 megapixels, ray-tracing for mobile gaming and 5G connectivity for both SIMs, among other stunning features. If the mid-range Nord 2 has all the above-mentioned features, it will undoubtedly be a game-changer for the price range.
