Carl Pei, co-founder of the Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus, has reportedly left the company after 7 years. The news appeared on Reddit when a user namely 'JonSJonSigur' shared screenshots of OnePlus' internal memos; Pei's name wasn't included in the memos. The memos also mentioned that Emily Dai–company's operation head in India–has replaced Pei as the head of the Nord product line globally.

According to TechCrunch, a popular technology website, Pei is starting a "new venture" and "is in talks with investors to raise capital".

Android Central, another technology website, reported that Pei left OnePlus a few weeks ago and he's no longer a part of the company's organizational chart.

Carl Pei and Pete Lau started the company in 2012. Initially a small venture, OnePlue rose to become a market leader in several markets including India.

Pei has largely been a 'face' of the company, he appeared on product launch event, interacted with fans and media; with his exit OnePlus will lose a high-profile executive.
