New York: A former employee at Meta said she cried for two hours straight after being laid off last week.

Facebook parent company showed the door to 10,000 employees when it announced second round of layoffs.

Andrea Guzman Garcia-Luna, who shared her ordeal on LinkedIn, previously lost job in 2018 when the Instagram Community Team was disintegrated.

Garcia-Luna in her post opened up about her frustrations and pain at losing job.

Despite losing job previously, she discovered she was not prepared for it again and she cried for two hours.

‘After the November layoffs and March announcement (when we were told to brace for 10k people to lose their jobs), you'd think I'd have been more prepared to face the blow when it came. Turns out I wasn't,’ Garcia-Luna’s post read.

The former Meta employee said that her mental health took a toll from the experience and she could not focus.

It was then she understood she needed to take a break in order to recover.

‘Truth is, my mental health took such a toll from this whole experience that it's hard to focus on either. And with each passing day I realize I need a break to recover,’ she said.

Garcia-Luna said she had seen people who lost jobs cry on Zoom calls, being gripped by fear and uncertainty.

However she is not rushing to do anything for now because he needs to rest a while after eight years of ‘nonstop work’.

Garcia-Luna urged those hiring to choose from former Meta employees attesting to their brilliance.
