Despite the warnings and the despatch of nine NDRF teams the same day, Shah criticized the Kerala government for not acting promptly, which he claimed could have minimized the impact of the landslide on July 30. Shah assured full support from the Central government and highlighted that other states had effectively used similar warnings to mitigate disaster impacts.
