The fresh refugees arrived in Mizoram after conflict intensified between the Bangladesh Army and armed ethnic outfits in the mountainous areas of the southeast region of the neighboring country, forcing the tribal population to move. With this influx, the number of refugees from the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) in the state has risen to 1,433.
