India's Asian Games schedule on September 27: Squash stars Abhay, Anahat eye gold

India will begin its eighth day of action at the 2026 Asian Games on September 27, with squash in focus as Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh compete in the men's and women's singles finals.
Both players have already secured silver medals and will look to upgrade them to gold.
Abhay will face Malaysia's Ng Eain Yow in the men's singles final at 12:30 pm, while Anahat will take on Malaysia's Sivasangari Subramaniam in the women's singles final at 1:30 pm.
Athletics will also feature several medal events.
Tejaswin Shankar and Thowfeeq Noushad will compete across the remaining events of the men's decathlon, including the 110m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and 1500m.
Shaili Singh and Ancy Sojan will compete in the women's long jump final at 3:35 pm, followed by the women's 200m final at 3:55 pm, men's 200m final at 4:05 pm and men's high jump final at 4:15 pm.
Parul Chaudhary and Ankita will compete in the women's 3000m steeplechase final at 5:52 pm, while India's women's 4x100m relay team will compete in the heats at 6:15 pm.
In badminton, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will face Malaysia's Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan in the women's doubles quarterfinals at 6 am. Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto will face China's Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dongping in the mixed doubles quarterfinals at 6:10 am. PV Sindhu, subject to qualification, and Unnati Hooda will be in women's singles quarterfinal action at 9:30 am, with Hooda facing Japan's Akane Yamaguchi.
Shooting will see Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rahi Sarnobat compete in the women's 25m pistol qualification, while boxing features four Indian quarterfinal bouts.
Harjinder Kaur will compete in the women's 69kg weightlifting medal event at 10 am. India will also compete in archery, surfing, sepak takraw, equestrian, fencing, sailing, kurash, volleyball and hockey throughout the day.
India's women's hockey team will face Singapore at 3:30 pm, while the men's volleyball team will play Vietnam at 12:30 pm.
