The FIFA 2022 turned out to be Messi's World Cup after he charged his team to win the title with seven goals and won the Adidas Golden Ball. Messi won the silver boot, and Olivier Giroud from France the Bronze boot.

Mbappe, who won the golden boot, was level with Messi with five goals before the final match. He became the first man to score a hat trick in FIFA finals since Sir Geoff Hurst in 1966. With eight goals in all, Mbappe matched Ronaldo's total in 2002.

There were many running for the best young player, including Jude Bellingham of England and Aurelien Tchouameni of France. However, Argentina's Enzo Fernandez, a tenacious and determined midfielder who is also good in possession and a driving force in Lionel Scaloni's Argentina at the age of 21, IANS reported.
