Mumbai: As the Chennai Super Kings languishes at the bottom end of the points table of IPL 2022, just above Mumbai Indians, which is a heart-wrenching sight to scores of fans, skipper Ravindra Jadeja has decided to give Mahendra Singh Dhoni captaincy of the franchise. According to the franchise announcement on Saturday, Jadeja has requested Dhoni to lead again so that he could give attention to his role of being an allrounder, IANS reported.

"Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game and has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK," the franchise said in a statement. "MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest and to allow Jadeja to focus on his game," it added.

In this season, Jadeja, who is an outstanding allrounder, was seen struggling in the batting, bowling and fielding.

The four-time champions have only won two games out of eight far and are sandwiched by Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians at the bottom on the points table, which is a very unlikely sight. Mumbai India has had zero wins so far, and if they are going to lose Saturday's game, they will be out of the tournament this year.
