Guwahati: As lobbying is rife in Congress to field Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls, Assam Congress president Ripun Bora suggested her from the one seat in the state.
However he left the decision to both the high command and Priyanka Gandhi. Also, Bora expressed confidence in winning the seat through alliance with AIUDF in the state.
The Congress and AIUDF had been partners in the UPA at the Centre, and also had a bitter relationship back home.
Priyanka Gandhi, currently looking after the party in Uttar Pradesh, entered active politics on the eve of the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
