New Delhi: The Centre has set up two high-level committee of secretaries chaired by Union home secretary to stop mob lynching.

Menwhile, the Supreme Court which intervened in Alwar mob lynching even after the verdict, will consider the demand to take action against the BJP government in Rajasthan.

The committee will study about the circumstances that led to mob violence and lynching. It has to submit its recommendations within four weeks.

The committee comprises Foreign Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and the secretaries of the justice, legal affairs, legislative and social justice and empowerment departments.

The recommendations will be handed over to the Prime Minister.

The Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra had on July 17 said that a new law has to be formed along with providing guidelines to the central and state governments to stop mob violence.

The government however did not respond to this verdict. It announced taking an action only when the Sangh Parivar cow vigilante goons lynched Rakbar Khan in Alwar with the help of police, triggered a controversy.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh refused to respond even after Congress president Rahul Gandhi came forward condemning the cow vigilante attack.

It was after that the government informed that the union Home Minister would lead the high-level committee that will look into the report related to forming a new law.

Senior advocate Indira Jaising had informed Chief Justice Dipak Misra about the Alwar attack the other day.

she urged to consider the plea she filed seeking contempt of court action against the Rajasthan government for failing to prevent lynching despite the apex court's latest verdict.

The Chief Justice made it clear that it will hear the plea along with the main petition to be heard on August 20.
