The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, along with the release of detainees, hostages, and captives. The agreement has been hailed as a pivotal step toward alleviating the suffering caused by the ongoing crisis.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, commended Qatar, Egypt and the United States for their diplomatic efforts in reaching the agreement. He expressed hope that the ceasefire would prevent further loss of life, ease the anguish of both Palestinian captives and Israeli hostages, and lay the foundation for resolving the crisis.

The UAE Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of both parties strictly adhering to all agreements and obligations outlined in the ceasefire. Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE's longstanding position on the urgent and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in need. He noted that those affected by the conflict have endured critical humanitarian conditions for over 15 months, underscoring the dire need for immediate international assistance.

Sheikh Abdullah also called on the international community to intensify efforts to revive the Middle East peace process. He urged for an end to illegal practices that undermine the viability of a two-state solution and reaffirmed the UAE’s support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The UAE reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to promoting peace, justice and the rights of the Palestinian people. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized that ensuring stability in the region requires a collective effort to support long-term solutions that respect the dignity and rights of all parties involved.
