Dubai: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has vehemently rejected allegations levelled against it in a letter addressed to the UN Security Council. The accusations, brought forward by Sudan's Permanent Representative, have been refuted by UAE officials, emphasizing the unfounded nature of the claims.

Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, emphasized that the allegations are entirely baseless and run counter to the established fraternal relations between the UAE and Sudan. Nusseibeh further clarified that these allegations aim to spread misinformation and false narratives, intending to evade responsibility and undermine international efforts directed towards addressing the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

In a letter addressed to Vanessa Fraser, President of the United Nations Security Council, Mohammed Abu Shehab, Ambassador of the UAE and Permanent Representative of the State to the United Nations, reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to supporting a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Sudan. The UAE remains dedicated to collaborating with all stakeholders to facilitate processes aimed at reinstating Sudan on the political path, ultimately leading to a permanent settlement and the establishment of a civilian-led government.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the UAE's commitment to supporting Sudan's peace process remains steadfast. The UAE's efforts are focused on fostering stability and prosperity in the region, ensuring that Sudan can achieve a sustainable and inclusive political solution.

UAE has emphasized the importance of international cooperation and constructive dialogue in addressing the challenges facing Sudan. The UAE stands ready to contribute positively to any initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people and promoting long-term peace and stability in the region.
