The UAE Cyber Security Council issued a public advisory on Monday, urging Google Chrome users in the country to update their browsers to the latest version. This follows the release of important security updates by Google, aimed at addressing vulnerabilities within the free web browser.

The update is critical, as the vulnerabilities could allow hackers to gain access to devices, steal sensitive data, or execute malicious codes within affected systems.

The tech giant also rolled out security updates for the Long-Term Support (LTS) channel of ChromeOS to further address these issues.

The council stressed the importance of Chrome users updating their browsers and recommended sharing the advisory with other entities and partners to prevent potential cyber threats.

Earlier, on July 15, UAE business entities were also advised to secure their systems, monitor for threats, and update their software in response to a rising wave of cyberattacks.

During the third quarter of 2023, 56 percent of businesses in the UAE experienced data breaches, highlighting the urgency of maintaining updated cybersecurity measures.
