Sharjah revises paid parking hours for 7-day zones

Sharjah has announced changes to its paid parking hours for designated seven-day zones, which are marked by blue parking information signs. Beginning November 1, motorists will be required to pay for parking from 8:00 AM until midnight, extending the previous timing that ended at 10:00 PM. The new 16-hour paid parking schedule will apply throughout the week, including on public holidays, to ensure better space availability and more efficient parking management.

In these zones, parking areas are typically marked with blue and white curb lines, accompanied by signage detailing the fees and rules. The Sharjah City Municipality explained in a statement that the extended hours are aimed at improving the turnover of vehicles and making parking spaces more accessible throughout the day and evening.

For those who park frequently, the municipality offers prepaid subscription plans that eliminate the need for daily payments. Individuals can select either a subscription covering all areas of Sharjah or a plan limited to two specific areas. Businesses, meanwhile, have the option of subscribing to a city-wide parking plan. The cost of these subscriptions varies based on the type of plan chosen, providing flexibility for both personal and commercial users.

The introduction of longer paid parking hours, along with the availability of subscription services, reflects Sharjah’s efforts to streamline parking operations and enhance convenience for residents, visitors and businesses.
