RTA to distribute 8,000 meals across Dubai during Ramadan
text_fieldsDubai’s Roads and Transport Authority will distribute 8,000 meals during Ramadan as part of a wider program aimed at reaching workers, drivers and low-income families across the emirate.
The initiative, held under the theme “Among Our People”, includes meal preparation at RTA headquarters and Quranic Park, where employees and volunteers will take part in packing and handing out food to workers.
Iftar meals will also be distributed at metro stations in coordination with Keolis MHI, DAMAC Properties and Noon. The distribution will target heavy vehicle drivers, bus and taxi drivers, delivery riders and other workers, with awareness messages included.
The authority said the programme extends beyond food distribution. It covers support for underprivileged families and orphans while also recognising metro users and frontline transport staff.
In collaboration with partners including Beit Al Khair Society, Al Ahliah Charity Schools and Dar Al Hay Gents Tailoring, RTA will roll out community activities throughout the month.
A social media campaign titled “Thank You, RTA Heroes” will invite the public to post messages for frontline employees, customer service teams, bus drivers, metro staff, delivery riders and marine transport personnel. Selected entries will receive nol cards and shopping vouchers.
RTA employees and volunteers will be involved in activities across Dubai during Ramadan as part of the authority’s community outreach efforts.
