Dubai: Dubai Municipality announced extensive plans for managing hygiene and community services related to sustainable waste management during the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holidays in the emirate. The municipality's efforts aim to ensure cleanliness and environmental sustainability throughout the holiday period, providing a high standard of living for residents and visitors alike.

The Civic body has assigned 2,300 cleaners to oversee hygiene services across Dubai during Eid Al Fitr. These cleaners will work in four shifts and will be equipped with all the necessary tools and equipment for the field. Additionally, 650 hygiene engineers from the private sector have been appointed to manage hygiene-related tasks in various areas.

The teams, including approximately 250 supervisory staff, will monitor hygiene tasks and complete the closure of emergency field communications. To maintain the cleanliness of public beaches, a field team of 84 members, including 12 supervisors and 72 cleaners, will work daily in three shifts.

The initiative aims to enhance the sustainability of public beaches in Dubai and provide a unique experience for beachgoers during the Eid holiday. Further, approximately 752 vehicles and machinery, including heavy and light vehicles, will be deployed to support hygiene tasks, deal with complaints and implement daily field surveillance programs.

The average daily program for the automated fleet will be 456 to complete the city's hygiene tasks. To keep major roads clean, a workforce of 57 cleaners and 5 supervisory and monitoring employees will work in four shifts, covering a total of 2,300 kilometres of main roads.

The Municipality has developed operational plans to promptly respond to reports and allocate the necessary human and logistical resources for waste collection and transportation. The group will also clean accident sites on external roads and highways.

Technical programs and action plans, as well as supervisory and field efforts, will ensure the hygiene of all roads and highways, residential areas and public facilities. Dubai Municipality has put together a comprehensive strategy for integrated waste management to provide the highest standards of quality for hygiene services and operations in the Emirates.

Cleaning operations are taking place across all 10 Eid prayer areas in the emirate, with supplementary rubbish cans placed near mosques, event venues and crowded areas. Waste disposal and treatment facilities, such as the Al Qusais landfill and Bayada dump site, will operate around the clock throughout the holiday season.

Private sector firms will also be monitored, with operations carried out by seven different companies. Dubai Municipality will use its official website to provide a range of services and assistance to the public and customers, including requesting permits for disposing of hazardous waste and obtaining no-objection certificates for infrastructure and construction projects.

Dubai Municipality's waste management teams have effectively enabled cleaning operations across the emirate. The Municipality will temporarily suspend its bulk waste disposal operation during the initial days of Eid Al Fitr, after which it will resume normal operations.
