Vijay Dum Dum Biryani roadshow draws large turnout in Najran

The Vijay Dum Dum Biryani roadshow made its Najran stop on Friday, drawing a strong turnout from the expatriate community at City Flower Hypermarket in Al Azam Mall.
The event, organised by Gulf Madhyamam and led by presenter, actor and food vlogger Raj Kalesh, also known as Kallu, attracted hundreds of visitors and turned into a large public gathering for residents in the city. Kalesh received a formal welcome on arrival at Najran airport from representatives of community organisations and food enthusiasts.
The program began at 6 pm and featured a competitive biryani cook-off, with 16 participants entering through a lateral entry format. Contestants competed for top positions, with Dr Mirza Sijeel, Irshana and Arifi Kadiri selected as winners. The three advanced to the semi-final stage of the competition.
Organisers said participation extended beyond the Malayali community, with contestants and attendees including Tamil, Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals, as well as Saudi citizens and other Arab residents.
The event also included a live musical performance by a local expatriate group. Kalesh interacted with the audience through games and entertainment segments, with prizes awarded to winners. Gifts and rewards were provided by event sponsors.
Support for the program was provided by Shinto Mohan, manager of City Flower Hypermarket; Sanad Hussain Al-Katlan, mall supervisor; Abinan Al-Abbas, marketing manager; Sharif, a representative; and officials from Gulf Madhyamam.
The Vijay Dum Dum Biryani roadshow is scheduled to cover 10 cities across Saudi Arabia as part of its Kingdom-wide tour.
