Two Saudi citizens, Khalid bin Muhammad bin Talal Al-Shahrani and Omar bin Dhafar bin Ali Al-Shahrani, were executed on Monday for their involvement in acts of terrorism, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Interior.

The Ministry detailed that the two individuals were involved in several terrorist activities, including joining a terrorist entity, collaborating with its members, financing terrorism and participating in operations that led to the deaths of multiple security personnel. Their crimes also involved the use of weapons and suicide belts to target security installations, driven by a terrorist ideology that justified violence and the disruption of societal stability.

The ministry noted that their actions aimed at shedding blood and violating the sanctity of property and honour. Following their arrest, the two men were referred to the Public Prosecution, where they faced charges related to their involvement in these terrorist acts. Their death sentences were finalized after the Supreme Court upheld the ruling following an appeal process.

The execution took place in Riyadh on Monday, bringing the case to a close. The Ministry of Interior reiterated the importance of security and stability in Saudi society and emphasized the government's firm stance against terrorism and its perpetrators.
