Riyadh: King Salman, according to the Saudi Press Agency, has ordered the Kingdom to invest $1 billion in Pakistan as a sign of its support for the nation and its people.

The directive came during a phone conversation between Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.

During the call, there was also a discussion on regional and global subjects of relevance, Arab News reported.

In a tweet, Bhutto Zardari expressed his appreciation for the investment in Pakistan and informed his counterpart "on damages caused by unprecedented floods" in his nation.

He continued by expressing his gratitude for Saudi Arabia's cooperation and its offer of "all possible assistance."
