Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, in association with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, has organized the largest Qur’an memorization competition for girls in Kyrgyzstan. The competition, held across seven governorates and two cities, saw 270 contestants participate in the first qualifying round across four categories: memorization of the entire Qur’an, memorization of 20 parts, memorization of 10 parts and tajweed and recitation.

The final rounds took place Tuesday at the Imam Sarakhsi Mosque in Bishkek, where 26 contestants competed. The winners will be honoured on Wednesday in the presence of key religious officials from Saudi Arabia and Kyrgyzstan.

This initiative follows the first national competition for boys, held in December 2023. It is part of the Ministry's broader programs to promote the teachings of the Qur’an, encourage moderation and combat extremism internationally.
