Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Japan, Dr. Ghazi Binzagr, has been named the general commissioner for the Kingdom’s pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. The appointment coincides with the final stages of construction for the pavilion, which is set to showcase the Kingdom’s participation in the global exhibition beginning in April.

Dr. Binzagr, who has served as Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Japan since 2024, will assume this new role while continuing his current diplomatic duties. The Saudi Press Agency highlighted his extensive experience, including three terms as a member of the Shoura Council and his role as deputy chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee from 2023 to 2024.

As ambassador, Dr. Binzagr has been instrumental in strengthening Saudi-Japanese relations, contributing to key initiatives such as the Saudi-Japanese Business Forum. His efforts span critical sectors, including energy security, technology, trade and investment, further solidifying the ties between the two nations.

The Kingdom’s pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka reflects Saudi Arabia’s dedication to international collaboration for sustainable human development. Its design pays tribute to the nation’s rich history and culture while highlighting its ongoing economic transformation. The pavilion is one of the first to near completion, as Saudi Arabia commenced construction at the Osaka site in early 2024.
