Riyadh: Saudi Arabia's King Salman inaugurated the work of the third year of the Shoura Council's eighth session on Sunday. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman virtually attended the session.

"The Kingdom, since its unification, has laid the foundations of peace, stability, and the achievement of justice," said the king. He added that God has honoured the Kingdom with two holy mosques and the country has been keen to carry on its duties to serve Islam since its establishment.

Shura Council is the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia, the governmental body acting as the formal advisory body of the Kingdom. It is a deliberative assembly that advises the King on issues that are important to Saudi Arabia.

Speaking of a sustainable future, he said Saudi is witnessing a comprehensive and sustainable development movement and is now in the second phase of Vision 2030.

He also asserted Riyadh's support of efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Russia-Ukraine crisis and said the Kingdom is working hard to support, stabilize, and balance oil markets. He called on Iran to fulfill its nuclear commitments and prompted the regime to cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency, reported Arab News.
