International seminar on Yoga held at the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia

Ambassador of India and other special guests attended the seminar as part of the International Yoga Day celebrations held at the Indian Embassy

Riyadh: As part of the 9th International Day of Yoga 2023 celebrations under the theme “Yoga for Vasudaiva Kutumbakam” and as part of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Embassy of India in Riyadh organized International Seminar on Yoga on 19 June 2023 at Indian Embassy Auditorium.

The Seminar was presided by the Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan. Padma Shri awardee Guruji Dr. H.R. Nagendra, Hon’ble Chancellor, Svyasa University, and Dr. Manjunath Sharma, Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor & Director, Research Svyasa University were the chief guests for the event.

The panel of speakers for the seminar includes Dr. David Frawley, American Vedic Institute; Dr. A.K.Murugan, Senior Scientist Molecular Oncology, KFSHRC; Dr.K. Mayarani Senan, Ph.D. Scholar, Svyasa University; Dr. Anwar Khurshid, Family Medicine Physician, Ministry of National Guards; and Dr. Vineesh, Scientist, Department of Cell Biology. The speakers touched upon various topics on Yoga such as World Health and the latest Research in the field of yoga, yoga and ayurveda for future well-being, yoga and cancer treatment, efficacy of yoga in psycho-somatic diseases, yoga and heart issues, and yoga and diabetes.

The event was attended by Embassy officials, invited members from the Indian diaspora, and members of the diplomatic community. The chief guests and panel of speakers were given mementos by Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan and Deputy Chief of Mission Shri N. Ram Prasad.
