Air India and Air India Express have extended flight suspensions to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam until October 20, citing the evolving security situation in Saudi Arabia.

The announcements on Friday follow cancellations by IndiGo and Akasa Air, whose suspensions on some Saudi routes extend until October 24.

“In view of the evolving situation in Saudi Arabia, all Air India flights to and from Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah stand cancelled until 20 October 2026,” Air India said on X.

The airline is offering affected passengers full refunds.

“At Air India, the safety and security of our passengers and crew remain the highest priority,” it said.

Air India Express also extended its suspension of flights to and from Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh until October 20.

“We continue to monitor the situation closely and will proactively review and adjust our operations as necessary. Our teams are extending all possible support and assistance to impacted guests,” the airline said.

Affected Air India Express passengers can choose complimentary rescheduling or a full refund on cancellation.

IndiGo announced on Thursday that flights to and from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah would remain cancelled until October 24 following a careful assessment of the situation.

Akasa Air has suspended Riyadh services until October 24 and Jeddah services until October 21. It is offering affected passengers a full refund or complimentary rescheduling.

The airlines said passenger and crew safety remained their priority and that they would continue monitoring conditions before deciding when services could resume.

Passengers have been advised to check their flight status before travelling to the airport and ensure their contact details are up to date with their airline.
