Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt received the Golden Globe Horizon Award at the fifth Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah. She accepted the honour during the festival’s gala dinner. The Horizon Award is a newly introduced Golden Globe category created to recognize rising global talents who are making strong contributions to international cinema. The award aims to highlight artists from the Middle East, Asia and North Africa.

Golden Globe President Helen Hoehne said she was pleased to honour Bhatt, saying, “we celebrate Alia Bhatt’s remarkable contributions to international cinema and the continued rise of the Middle East as a dynamic and influential centre for global filmmaking".

After receiving the award, Bhatt said she was grateful for the recognition.

“The Golden Globes are an iconic global award. I am extremely happy to be part of it".

"I look forward to continuing my journey telling stories of strong and deserving women" said Alia.

Bhatt drew attention at the gala for her elegant appearance, with her fashion choices receiving wide praise from fans and media. She is regarded as one of Indian cinema’s most talented and commercially successful actors, known for acclaimed performances in films such as Highway, Raazi, Udta Punjab, Dear Zindagi and Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Tunisian actor Hend Sabry was also honoured at the event with the Omar Sharif Award, which recognizes contributions to Arab cinema and commemorates the three-time Golden Globe–winning Egyptian actor Omar Sharif.

The ceremony was attended by a large group of international film personalities, including Bollywood star Salman Khan, Idris Elba, Sigourney Weaver, Riz Ahmed, Naomie Harris and Darren Aronofsky.
