Director & CEO of Jumbo Electronics Mr C V Rappai’s autobiography A Tale of Two Journeys was launched on Friday, 20 September 2024, at a function held at Holiday Inn in Doha, which was attended by family members, friends and prominent community leaders.

The book was launched by the Indian Ambassador to Qatar, HE Shri Vipul. A Tale of Two Journeys is published by Katara Publishing House in Doha and is the first comprehensive autobiography of an Asian expatriate published in Qatar. Written in an evocative and lucid style, the book not only gives readers a comprehensive look into Rappai’s struggle and success, his unique experiences in life, perspectives and management philosophy, but it also provides valuable insights into Qatar’s early days of progress.

“Katara Publishing House is happy to publish A Tale of Two Journeys, which I think is a first of its kind autobiography by an Asian expatriate in Qatar", said Khalid Al Sayed, Author, Columnist & Director of Events and Culture Affairs Katara Cultural Village Foundation.

He added, "Mr. Rappai’s story is a shining example of how expatriates work hard in Qatar and reach the pinnacle of success in every field, making use of the ample opportunities our country provides under the wise leadership of His Highness Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani & His highness Hamad bin Khaleefa Althani, Father Amir. I found the book interesting because his experiences, perspectives, and achievements are unique and inspiring and will motivate others".

The book has 253 pages and 23 chapters that touch on his childhood, early life struggle, arrival in Doha and the early days of Video Home set in the backdrop a Doha which was beginning to bloom and later tracks the stunning transformation of Qatar into a global power.

A Tale of Two Journeys also provides valuable insights into business management and management philosophy for budding entrepreneurs and businesspersons.
