Kuwait’s armed forces and security agencies have moved swiftly to calm public concern after a surge of social media rumours claimed the presence of ballistic missiles and unusual military activity in the country’s airspace.

In an official statement issued Monday, the General Staff of the Kuwait Army confirmed that the ballistic missiles reported were flying at “very high altitudes and outside Kuwaiti airspace,” posing no threat to national security.

“There is no cause for concern,” the statement emphasized, urging citizens to refrain from spreading unverified information and to rely solely on official channels for updates.

Responding to additional rumours circulating online, the Kuwait National Guard denied allegations that it had launched any military operations overhead. The Moral Guidance Directorate clarified that the Guard is continuing its routine security and defence duties in close coordination with the Ministries of Defence and Interior, and that no exceptional air missions are currently underway.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining transparency and security, calling on the public to avoid misinformation and trust only verified government communications.
