Kuwait Crown Prince joins Trump-hosted Arab-US summit in New York

New York: The representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, took part on Tuesday in a high-level summit hosted by US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, and held separate talks with the prime ministers of Pakistan and Iraq and the president of Senegal.
The summit brought together leaders and heads of delegation from GCC states, Jordan and other Arab and Islamic countries attending the high-level week to discuss security challenges in the Middle East. Talks covered regional security threats, including Iranian attacks on countries in the region, the safety of navigation in strategic international waterways, the stability of global energy supplies and the crisis in the Gaza Strip. Participants stressed the importance of the strategic partnership and continued coordination with the United States to reinforce regional and global security, support de-escalation and advance a comprehensive and just peace in the region.
Meeting Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, HH the Crown Prince reviewed relations between the two countries and ways to deepen cooperation in strategic sectors. The two sides agreed to establish a formal strategic dialogue co-chaired by their foreign ministers, to serve as an institutional framework for regular consultation. They also discussed items on the General Assembly's agenda and regional and international developments.
He also met Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi and his accompanying delegation, reviewing bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation in various fields along with the latest regional and international developments.
In a meeting with Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, HH the Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of HH the Amir, wishing the president good health and the people of Senegal further progress. The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and explored cooperation in fields of mutual interest, as well as regional and international developments.
The meetings were attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director-General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) Sheikh Dr Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi, Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Tareq Al-Banai and head of HH the Crown Prince's office Maj Gen Ahmad Al-Daie.
