Kuwait announced on Friday that non-Kuwaitis would be permitted entry as the state lifts the ban on the 35 countries under new measures as of February 21.

The Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) revealed in a press release that passengers arriving in Kuwait by direct flights from high-risk countries must self-quarantine in local hotels for 14 days at their own expense, as per the instructions of the health authorities, to limit the spread of Covid19. Passengers from other countries must also isolate themselves in local hotels for seven days at their own cost. The statement added that travellers would only be allowed to board their flights by registering in its Kuwaitmosafer application before entry.

However, Kuwaiti patients and students, unaccompanied under-18-year-old travellers, diplomats and medical staff are exempted from institutional detention but are required to quarantine at home for 14 days, the statement added.

Kuwait had banned entry from hotspot countries, including India, Pakistan, Iran, China, Brazil, Philippines, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, and Iraq.
