The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced major relief measures for Class 12 students applying for post-result services following the declaration of board examination results this year. In an official notice, the board said students seeking scanned copies of answer sheets, verification of marks, or re-evaluation will now pay substantially lower fees than earlier. CBSE also clarified that students whose marks increase after re-evaluation will receive a refund of the re-evaluation fee.

According to the revised structure, the fee for obtaining scanned copies of evaluated answer books has been reduced from Rs 700 to Rs 100. The fee for verification of issues in answer books has also been cut from Rs 500 to Rs 100. Similarly, the re-evaluation fee has been lowered from Rs 100 per question to Rs 25 per question. CBSE said the reductions were introduced to ensure that financial limitations do not prevent students from accessing post-result facilities.

As per the schedule released by the board, applications for scanned copies of answer books can be submitted from May 19 to May 22, 2026. The window for verification of marks and answer book issues will remain open from May 26 to May 29. Re-evaluation applications can also be filed during the notified period through the official CBSE portals.

The board stated that the overall process for post-result activities remains unchanged in line with the notification issued on May 15. Schools have been advised to widely inform students and parents so applications can be submitted within the stipulated deadlines. CBSE reiterated its commitment to maintaining a “transparent, fair, and student-friendly evaluation system”.

Meanwhile, the board has launched dedicated support services for students and parents dealing with stress or confusion after the results. A tele-counselling helpline has been activated at 1800-11-8004 to provide guidance on examinations, results, and evaluation-related concerns. Students can also seek assistance or clarification by emailing resultcbse2026@cbseshiksha.in.

The CBSE Class 12 results this year recorded an overall pass percentage of 85.20 per cent. Girls once again outperformed boys, while more than 94,000 students secured above 90 per cent marks.
