Traffic restrictions imposed in Kozhikode tomorrow ahead of Malaysian PM’s visit
text_fieldsKozhikode: Traffic restrictions will be imposed in Kozhikode from 5 pm on Sunday in connection with the visit of the Malaysian Prime Minister, the traffic police said.
Complete traffic restrictions will be in place from 5 pm on the routes between Vaidyarangadi and Malaparamba, as well as from Malaparamba to Kunnamangalam–Madavoor.
Vehicles arriving from the Wayanad side will have to enter Kozhikode city via Thamarassery, Balussery, Nanmanda and Eranhipalam.
Vehicles coming from the Koduvally side should use the Padanilam–Kalarikkandy–Varattyakk–Peringolam route, while those arriving from Mukkam should take the Chethukadavu-Peringolam route.
Vehicles coming from Kannur will have to use the Elathur–Pavangad–Nadakkavu route to enter Kozhikode city. Vehicles arriving from the University side should take the Idimuzhikkal–Ramanattukara–Feroke–Cheruvannur route.
Vehicles travelling from the city towards Kunnamangalam should use the Medical College–Mundikkal Thazham–Kottamparamba–Manathanath Road route.
Vehicles coming from the Malaparamba side should also proceed towards Kunnamangalam via Poolakkadavu, Iringadanpally, Mundikkal Thazham, Kottamparamba and Manathanath Road.
Passengers travelling to the airport or railway station have been advised to leave early in view of the restrictions.
No vehicle parking will be permitted on roads between Malaparamba and Kunnamangalam–Madavoor. Traffic along the route will be completely regulated during the movement of the VVIP convoy.
