Thiruvananthapuram: Tenants of a flat in Thiruvananthapuram accuse the owners of moral policing including recording visitors phone numbers and details.

Bathelors staying in the flats have to abide by the rules imposed by the Owner’s Association of Heera Twins apartment in Pattom.

A notice issued by the association suggest that four main rules have been imposed on the single tenants in the building, according to The News Minute.

The intrusive instructions barred tenants from inviting any opposite sex visitor other than blood relatives.

Tenants’ Aadhar and phone numbers alongside parents or guardians’ numbers are recorded in the visitors register.

Alongside the disturbing rules,’ non-families’ occupying the flats have been asked to vacate the place in two months. It is said the building is “meant for families only”.

One of the tenants at Heera Twins, 27-year-old Durga reportedly said that the move was to remove the bachelors in the building.

Durga alleged the move to vacate bachelors is the culmination of various moral policing activities happening in the flat over the years.

“They are not ready to retract the rules now. There is also a plan to switch off the lifts after 11 pm, so as to prevent anybody from visiting us. I think the lift will be operated only for families,” she reportedly said.

Durga further said of 24 flats in the building only six are occupied by bachelors, adding that restrictions on visitors are imposed on them.

If somebody visits at all they will have to give their father’s contact number at the entrance, she said.
