Amid Covid 19 challeges, Kerala completed 6000 digital classes
text_fieldsKerala has conducted over 6000 online classes with more than 3100 hours of educational content amid the challenges posed by Covid-19 pandemic and counted to have attended by more than 43 lakhs from pre-primary standard to class 12.
K. Anvar Sadath, CEO, KITE remarked that, "Initially, we planned the First Bell programme for a period of two months only but the Covid-19 situation demanded it to extend throughout the academic year. It was indeed a daunting task to develop the digital classes for all standards,especially for Plus Two in view of various combinations of subjects. But we were able to devise an all-inclusive digital class model to provide classes to all students without risking the loss of an academic year, to the satisfaction of students and teachers"
Telecast of classes for class 10 has completed by January 17 and that for Class 12 by Saturday.The revision classes has started from January 30 onward based on the focus areas for each subject determined by the General Education Department. Class 10 and 12 examinations are to be conducted from March 17 onward.
Digital classes were started in Kerala from 1stJanuary 2020as a provisional arrangement for regular classes. 'First Bell' classes area telecasting trough government owned KITE VICTERS under KITE (Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education).Number of subscribersofVICTERS channel inYouTube has already crossed over 2.4 million and reported to have viewers from outside country including West Asian countries, American and European regions.
All of the classes are made available in officialwebsite, http://firstbell.kite.kerala.gov.in as listed in class-wise and episode way. In order to facilitate the exam preparation specific episodes of focus areas will also be made in portal.
