Thiruvananthapuram:  The in-fight set in congress following the joint protest with LDF on CAA intensified.  KPCC president Mullapally Ramachandran on Monday disowned V D Satheesan’s statement.

Ramachandran reminded leaders who criticized him that his words would be the party stand on the issue.

The situation further worsened when leaders including K Muralidharan, VM Sudheeran came out supporting him.

Oomen Chandy who earlier supported joint protest changed stand after T Sidique was arrested and jailed protesting in Kozhikode.

Only holding a party meet could the decision of joint protest be changed, Mullaypally said. Sudheeran said that Pinarayi was following Modi’s policies.

The rift worsened after CPM appealed for congress’ participation in the human chain protest.
