Kochi: The Kerala police have arrested one more Campus Front worker over the murder of Abhimanyu, the Students Federation of India (SFI) leader at the Maharaja's College campus.

Arif Bin Salim is the district secretary of the Campus Front.

The investigating team said that Arif, a native of Perumbavoor, gave the quotation for murder. The gang of killers had stabbed Abhimanyu to death on July 1 at the college campus.

With Arif's arrest, 9 of the 16 who are directly linked to the murder are in custody. The police have listed 28 accused in the case, including those who helped the accused hide.

The police had the other day issued a lookout notice for the eight accused in the case including Arif.

The cops are reportedly preparing a chargesheet after examining statements of 125 witnesses and could submit it later this week. They had in July taken into custody Campus Front leader Muhammed, a key accused in the murder.

Among those still untraced in the case is the man accused of fatally stabbing Abhimanyu.

Abhimanyu was a native of Vattavada, a remote village in Idukki district. Arjun Krishna, who was with Abhimanyu on the ill-fated day, survived but with serious injuries.
